The exhibitions in the former synagogue attempt to reconstruct the destroyed Jewish life of the Jewish community St. Pölten.
Memorabilia of St. Pölten Jewish families formed the basis for the exhibition "... there were such nice people there" in November 1998 to mark the tenth anniversary of our institute and to commemorate the November pogroms 60 years ago.
With the permanent exhibition "We had a really Jewish life" 10 years later, we wanted to show what was destroyed, but at the same time provide the survivors and their descendants with a permanent place of remembrance.
The exhibition "God and Emperor" in the Stadtmuseum St. Pölten for the 100th anniversary of the St. Pölten Synagogue in 2013 not only illustrated the history, but also the significance of this house. Not a single item of ritual survived the Nazi and postwar years.
