History

The chairman of the "Minyan-Association", Ignatz Wengraf bought the parcel 115/2 in Großweinberg (at that time part of Maria Anzbach) in 1871 to establish a cemetery.

Shortly afterwards a ceremonial hall was erected. In 1920 an adjacent plot was purchased.

In 1940 the ceremonial hall was destroyed. During the war the city of Neulengbach confiscated and sold 15 tombstones. In 1943 there were about 60 graves at the old, and ten at the new part of the cemetery, including two crypts.

Since 1999 the Jewish cemetery of Neulengbach is under historic preservation.
